FAQ GUIDE
Eligibility & Grade Standards
Q. I am currently in the 8th grade. Can I take the Grade 9 or Calculus test?
If you are currently in the 8th grade, you are eligible to take any test for Grade 8 and higher. We encourage students to challenge themselves based on their mathematical proficiency.
Q. I attend a British school (Year 10) but I am in 9th grade in the American system. Which grade should I take?
Since IMC grading standards are based on the American school system, you can apply for Grade 9 and higher. Always select the level that best represents your current academic standing in mathematics.
Examination Policy
Q. Can I take multiple exams on the same day? (e.g., Grade 9 and 10)
IMC provides Grade 6, 8, 10, 12, and Calculus exams. While you cannot take two standard grade levels simultaneously, students are permitted to take their respective Grade level and the Calculus exam on the same day.
Note: Scheduling is designed to ensure students have sufficient focus for each academic challenge.
Results & Preparation
Q. When and where will the test results be released?
- Online Participants: Check results on "My Page" within 10 days.
- Paper-based Exams: Results are typically posted approximately 15 days after the exam date.
Q. Are there specific study materials or textbooks?
Systematic preparation materials and official IMC textbooks are being finalized. These will be available for purchase on our website shortly to help you prepare effectively.
Organizations & Research Contest
Q. Can a private Math Club conduct paper exams?
We welcome participation from clubs. We may require additional documentation to ensure the test environment is fair. Eligibility is determined through a document screening process.
Q. Does the IRPSC research topic have to be strictly Math/Science?
Topics in the humanities are accepted, provided they demonstrate a strong link to mathematical or scientific methodologies. Applications require a mentor recommendation and undergo a two-stage screening process by IMC-IMPEA faculty.
